2025 Lumberjack Jaunt
Join us for the 50th Annual Lumberjack Jaunt
brought to you by the Brainerd Nordic Ski Club
The first Annual Lumberjack Jaunt was held March 2, 1975, by the newly formed Brainerd Cross Country Ski Club. There were 49 racers that first year clad in knickers, and most skiing on wooden skis. The Lumberjack Jaunt has been held annually since 1975 with exception in years it was cancelled due to lack of snow or cold temperatures. Equipment and attire have advanced over the years, but the race has maintained it's casual appeal that attracts entire families. In 2025 we will celebrate 50 years of the Jaunt making it one of the longest running cross-country ski races in Minnesota. The after race lunch established at the first annual race remains a highlight of the day along with numerous prizes.
Ski distances of 6km or 16 km, skate or classic techniques. Free short races for kids 12 and under.
The Lumberjack Jaunt is a family oriented ski race. We encourage skiers of all abilities to come out and ski and enjoy the trails at the Northland Arboretum.
