Updated Track Information
A school ski race has been moved to the Northland Arboretum on Saturday January 30th. Because of this the open track 8 km course will be marked starting Thursday the 28th through Sunday the 31st. The school races will be using the trails from around 8:00 am through about 4:30 pm Saturday. If you are planning to ski your Jaunt on Saturday consider skiing at a different trail system than the Arboretum to reduce the number of people at the Arb on Saturday, or ski late in the day. Sunset will be at 5:20 and the just past full moon will rise at about 7:30 pm. Some of the 8 km course is lighted, but the more northeast trails are not. In the Brainerd area the French Rapids, Larson Lake, and Forestview Middle School trails are all in good shape and are great places for a Saturday Jaunt.
Event Details
In its 47th year, the 2021 Brainerd Nordic Ski Club’s Lumberjack Jaunt will be an Open Track/Virtual event on January 28-31. The 8 km course at the Northland Arboretum will be marked and available to ski over these three days, or ski at whatever venue is best for you (see Updated Track Information)
Ski distances of 8, 16, or 32 km, skate or classic techniques. Ski one lap (8 km), ski two laps for 16 km, or four laps for 32 km. Ski classic technique, or skate, or do your own skiathlon.
